François Ramette

Managing Partner


He began his career in 1994 at the Banque de France as a project manager in the Companies Division, where he developed a diagnostic model based on strategic and financial data. 

 He then moved into mergers and acquisitions, first as a consultant and then in industry (Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance, SNPE, Roullier). François has been involved in numerous acquisitions, joint ventures and disposals in a wide range of sectors and on all continents. In particular, he was involved in the merger of the European military industries linked to SNPE and the establishment of the Roullier Group in Brazil. 

In 2006, he founded Deomenos followed by Mairings to assist companies with their equity activities, in terms of strategic analysis, valuation and support, and the organisation of M&A transactions. Some fifty SMEs, ETIs and start-ups have chosen his approach of independent advice and intermediation, in their best interests. 

 Over the course of his assignments, François has built up a flexible working method that enables him to successfully complete the high net worth deals that are entrusted to him. The reputation of his independent team extends to the industrial and service sectors, mid-cap investment funds, private banks, family offices and business angels.

Romain Thomas

Senior Advisor

As a specialist in digital innovation and technology transfer, Romain started out in the R&D department of innovative startups and then as a business manager at Orange, managing the transfer and incorporation of technologies from Orange Labs into Orange Business Services' offerings, where he led some fifteen maturation and technology transfer projects. 

 In the 2010s, Romain joined SATT Ouest Valorisation to take charge of the development of computer science and mathematics in the 7 major public research laboratories in the West of France, where he managed a portfolio of more than 400 technologies and concluded some thirty transfer operations, in sales, licensing and start-up creation. 

In 2017, Romain co-founded the startup Askelys, in order to market a search engine specialising in semantic databases, stemming from IRISA. In this context, Askelys entrusts Deomenos (the original entity of Mairings) with a mission that will enable them to get to know and appreciate each other. At the end of 2022, Romain and Deomenos, now Mairings, decided to collaborate on IT missions and to develop a new line of services for Deep-Tech start-ups. Romain is also involved in other activities such as technology transfer consultancy and mentoring at the Station-R incubator, where he supports innovative start-ups.

Benoît Fortineau

Senior advisor

For the past 10 years, Benoît has been accompanying SME and start-up managers, mainly from the agri-business sector, who wish to strengthen their growth strategy. 

 He has accompanied more than 20 clients in 6 countries. With his transversal vision acquired in senior management positions, Benoît provides the entrepreneur with the tools to organize and involve his teams in an action plan to serve his strategy: business development plan, organization teams, implementation of projection and reporting tools, etc. 

 Benoît relies on 15 years of experience in international groups in which he has held various business development, marketing and management positions (Roullier, Aventis / Bayer CropScience, AgrEvo, Roussel Uclaf), France, Chile, Vietnam and Korea. 

 In 2013, Benoît Fortineau founded Fertinnobag, an R&D company involved in natural agricultural biostimulants (French JEI status). He sold his shares to an industrial partner in October 2016. For three years, while living in Cambridge (UK), Benoit was a mentor for the MBA program at Cambridge University's Judge Business School.

Hubert Sabourin

Senior advisor

Energy and value chain optimisation specialist, Hubert worked for 27 years in the oil industry with the BP group in various countries across Europe, in the fields of refining, trading, and petroleum product supply, as well as value chain optimisation from the purchase of crude oil to the sale of finished products.

In 2010, he made his transition to renewable energy and managed the implementation of 45 photovoltaic projects in Var on behalf of the diocese of Toulon.

Subsequently, he co-founded in 2014 the start-up Mini Green Power, which specialises in the conversion of solid waste into clean energy on a small scale. The technology of Mini Green Power allows for the transformation of green waste, wood waste, solid agricultural waste, and Solid Recovered Fuels (SRF) into green heat and electricity. He held the HR, legal, administrative, and financial responsibilities of this company for 10 years. During his time there, he carried out several fundraising rounds and obtained various grants and subsidies from BPI, ADEME, and the PACA region.
